Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. The Navy Experimental Diving Unit, Naval Sea Systems Command, Panama City, Fl. is seeking vendors to provide an Underwater Full Face Mask (FFM) to upgrade or replace the MK-24 Full Face Mask (FFM). There are three options that currently are under consideration, replacement of the mask only, replacement of the mask and switchover block, or replacement of the mask switchover block and quick disconnection points on the vehicle. The minimum requirements for a desirable Full Face Mask (FFM) shall have the following operational characteristics. Comfortable for long missions up to 8 hours Manufactured in different sizes Low volume and fog free. Operate in a temperature range of 28-105 deg F(a cold water conversion kit may be used below 35 deg F). Maximum operational depth of 130 Feet of Sea Water. Has a capability for a communication link. Black in color. Pe rmits uninhibited range of motion for the user. Mask must be scratch and damage resistant. Switching between open and closed circuits shall be accomplished in one maneuver. This FFM shall be a commercial item (non-military specifications). All manufacturers that have products that may fulfil part of these specifications are encouraged to submit product specifications and descriptions.
