Description

NA The USA Robert Morris Acquisition Center-Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA, in support of the U.S. Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command, Natick Soldier Center intends to conduct negotiations and award a purchase order to Oakley, Inc., One Ico n, Foothill Ranch, CA 92610 on the basis of other than full and open competition in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302. A Firm Fixed Price purchase order is anticipated. The proposed action is for an initial purchase of 25 pa irs of Assault Goggle Prototypes, Stock Number AG01, and an option for an additional 365 pairs of Assault Goggles for additional R&D efforts. Specific design requirements include: Weight requirement less than 24 oz., ambient noise reduction, low noise fan, anti-fog coating, and delrin molding technology for durability. Correct optical visibility, anti-fogging and single focal point discriminat ion through all aspects of mission profiles are of prime importance. The goggles should also meet American National Standards Institute (ANSI) requirements for threshold ballistic and blunt trauma protection.
