- The U.S. Geological Survey, Leetown Science Center in Kearneysville, WV intends to award solicit a competitive solicitation for the following items which supports the QIAGEN Biorobot 3000. The equipment is as follows: - Tip Adapter set, medium. Tip-adapter and precision syringe (1.0ml) for using 300-ul and 1100 ul disposable tips - High speed Pipeting System (external). Computer-controlled, high precision peristaltic pump with solenoid valves, reagent delivery module, bottles and tubing. - Labhand system T Tobotic handling system for moving labware such as 96-well plates on the worktable. - Varitherm. Computer-controlled, variable-temperature system - Tip disposal System - Cooling Block, 96 tube 0.2ml, holder for accomdating 96 tubes (0.2ml) on the worktable - Cooling Block, 1 tube 1.5ml. holder for the 24 tubes - Cooling Block, 1 tube 13ml for 13ml single tubes - Reagent Holder, tubes and bottles. Holder for 4 microtubes (1.5ml), 4 tubes (13ml) and 2 bottles (125ml and 60ml on the worktable) - Reagent Holder, 3 troughts 20ml. Holder for 3 disposable troughs (20ml) for use with multiple-channel pipetting systems. - TipPack Holder. For accomdating 96 conduting tips - Microplate Station, short. For accomdating a 96 well plate (or other labware with the same base dimensions) on the worktable - Training and installation - QIAGEN Biorobot Rapidplate System (disposable tips). Distributes and transfers 1ul to 200ul of liquid through all 96 channels of its pipttor head, allowing rapid and precise liquid handling. Includes Flat Screen monitor and computer. To work with Biorobot 3000 ext arm. The U.S. Geological Survey, Leetown Science Center in Kearneysville, WV intends to award a non-competitive purchase order via request for written quotation to QIAGEN Inc, 28159 Avenue Stanford, Valencia, CA 91355 for QIAGEN Biorobot 3000. This equipment is needed to automate the detection of genetic variation in horseshoe crabs, Atlantic Salmon, Atlantic sturgeon, boork trout, spotted salamanders, wood frogs, bog turtles, diamondback terrapins, black bears, and Florida manatees.. The proposed contractor offers unique qualifications in these areas, which are considered essential to the requirement. NOTICE FOR THE BIOROBOT 3000 IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS FOR THE BIOROBOT 3000. Interested vendors may identify their capabilty to respond to edodson@usgs.gov or fax to (703) 648-7367, attn: E. Dodson. However, all responsible sources may submit a bid within 5 days after the publication of this announcement which will considered by the Government. The anticipated award date is April 9, 2002. NAICS is 54170. A determination not to continue with this acquisition is based upon responses to this notice is solely within the descration of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition. See Numbered Notes 22 and 26.
