- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, Maryland intends to negotiate and issue a contract modification with Cryptek Inc., 14130-C Sullyfield Circle, Chantilly, VA, on a sole source basis for the procurement of the DiamondTEK wide area network multi-level security system for the Joint Engineering Data Management Information and Control System (JEDMICS) Program at the United States Pacific Command's (PACOM) Combined Operations Wide Area Network (COWAN). This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Cryptek Inc. is the only known responsible source that can provide the required products and services that 1) meets the National Security Agency's (NSA's) Evaluation Assurance Level * (EAL*) of Information Security for a certified encryption data security system, 2) conforms to NSA's Communications Security requirements for encryption of information from user desktop to the JEDMICS/PACOM servers, and 3) prevents unauthorized access to technical data at the network level. The basic contract N00421-00-C-0503 was awarded to Cryptek Inc., 18 Aug 2000. This in scope modification is intended to provide expanded support to include the Pacific Command Combined Operations Wide Area Network. In addition to supplying the hardware and software, Cryptek Inc. will provide the installation, engineering services, operational support, testing, capability demonstrations & analysis, and proof of concept. While this notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, interested parties may identify their interest and technical capability to respond to this requirement and may submit information which shall be considered by the Naval Air Systems Command.
