Description

1. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to solicit a quotation, on a sole source basis, from SnoMed Division of the College of American Pathologists, 325 Waukegan Rd., Northfield, IL 60093 for SnoMed multi-site-license. It is a multi-dimensional, structured nomenclature for electronically coding medical records including the pathology reports and is trademarked to the College of American Pathologists (A not for profit organization). Its medical terms are placed within natural hierachies and categorized. The terminology covers diseases, clinical findings, etiologies, therapies, procedures and outcomes. SnoMed technology is already in use at the CDC. To be effective from 08/01/2002 through 07/31/2003. This announcement constitutes the only Simplified Acquisition procedures will be utilized and an oral quotation will be solicited on or about 04/17/2002. Other than full and open competition is authorized pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). . The clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms & Conditions - Commercial Items (MAY 1999) applies to this acquisition. The following FAR Clauses are hereby added to this clause: The clause at 52.212-5 - Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders - Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. The following clauses listed in paragraph (b) of 52.212-5 apply to this acquisition: (1), (3), (5), (7), (9), (11), (12), (14), (15), (17), (18), (20) and (24). OFFERORS SHALL INCLUDE A COMPLETED COPY OF THE PROVISION AT 52.212-3, OFFERORS REPRESENTATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS - COMMERCIAL ITEMS, WITH YOUR QUOTE. The best way to complete this certification is to download the FAR Clauses (Volume II) at http://www.arnet.gov/far, print out the clause 52.212-3, Offeror Representation and Certification, and fill in the appropriate blanks. This procurement is not set-aside for small business. Qualified vendors have 15 days from the date of this synopsis to submit capability statements delineating their ability to provide this license. Such qualifications will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement of a full and open competition basis. No solicitation exists
