- Description
- Provide professional engineering services for the design of renovation of the Prosthetics and Urology Clinics at this VA Medical Center to facilitate award of a construction contract. Services will include site investigation, schematic design, design development, construction drawings and construction period services. The primary disciplines involved will be electrical, mechanical and architectural. Location of the project is VA Medical Center Asheville, North Carolina, on the 1st floor of Building 47, the main patient care building on campus. The urology portion of the project entails reconfiguration of the existing urology and minor surgery spaces and expansion into the vacated cath lab. The old cath lab space will be configured into a fully functioning operating room, in support of the urology clinic, with proper air exchange rates. The Prosthetics portion of the project will entail minor architectural and finish work. Total square footage involved is approximately 7,000 feet. Estimated construction cost is between $400,000 and $600,000. Area of consideration is restricted to Buncombe, Madison, Henderson, Haywood, Yancey, Rutherfordton, Transvania and McDowell Counties. This is 100% Set Aside for Small Business. Submit two (2) copies of Standard Forms (SF) 254 and (SF) 255 with appropriate documentation by close of business May 1, 2002. Selection criteria will be based on: (1) Past performance on similar projects, maintaining project schedules and project budgets; (2) Overall engineering design experience and capability with architectural, mechanical and electrical renovation projects; (3) Qualifications of staff to be assigned, with special emphasis on field personnel to be utilized; (4) Knowledge in design and construction requirements: and (5) Cost control effectiveness. A/E Scope of Service Packages will be available within 15 days of synopsis posted date. This is not a Request For Proposal (RFP). The NAIC # 541310 applies and award of this project is subject to the availability of funds.
