- Description
- Provide professional engineering services for the design replacement of chillers in Building 47 at this VA Medical Center to facilitate award of a construction contract. Services will include site investigation, schematic design, design development, construction drawings and construction period services. The primary disciplines involved will be electrical and mechanical. Location of the project is VA Medical Center Asheville, North Carolina, in Building 47, the main patient care building on campus and it?s associated mechanical building and spaces. The project will replace the main hospital chillers (2ea), install primary/secondary distribution, replace existing cooling towers and replace condenser and chill water pumps. Estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000 and $1,500,000. Area of consideration is restricted to a 200 mile radius of Asheville, N.C. This is 100% Set Aside for Small Business. Submit two (2) copies of Standard Forms (SF) 254 and (SF) 255 with appropriate documentation by close of business May 1, 2002. Selection criteria will be based on: (1) Past performance on similar projects, maintaining project schedules and project budgets; (2) Overall engineering design experience and capability with mechanical and electrical renovation projects; (3) Qualifications of staff to be assigned, with special emphasis on field personnel to be utilized; (4) Knowledge in design and construction requirements: and (5) Cost control effectiveness. A/E Scope of Services Packages will be available within 15 days of synopsis posted date. This is not a Request For Proposal (RFP). The NAIC# 541310 applies and award of this project is subject to the availability of funds.
