Description
NA Competitive proposals are being sought for the procurement of AN/PEM-1, Laser Borelight Systems (LBS), and for interfaces/mandrels for the Machine Gun, 40mm, Mk19. The minimum performance requirements for these devices and components are expected to be the performance requirements of the current LBS as specified in Performance Specification, PRF-A 3275564, dated 25 March 2002. The LBS is a rugged projector of visible laser light. The LBS is used to boresight the Thermal Weapon Sight (TWS), AN/PAS-13; the Infrared Aiming Light, AN/PAQ-4B or AN/PAQ-4C; the Target Pointer Illuminator Aiming Laser, AN/PEQ-2 or AN/PEQ-2A; the Close Combat Optic, M68; the Machine Gun Optic, M145; the Individual Served Weapon Sight, AN/PVS-4; the Crew Served Weapon Sight, AN/TVS- 5; the iron sights/backup iron sights; and other sighting devices to the various weapon systems to which they are attached. The LBS is also used to boresight the various sighting devices that can be mounted/attached to the Machine Gun, 40mm, Mk19. The LB S enables the boresighting of weapons during daylight, low light, and darkness without discharge of the weapon. This will be a sixteen (16) month basic effort, and will also include three (3) options. The basic requirement will be for a quantity of 7,000 LBS units and 2,000 interfaces/mandrels.
