Interested companies must be U.S. based and have demonstrated ability in the design and fabrication of retractable landing gear for medium-to-large commercial transport aircraft. This includes the ability to assess the aerodynamics and acoustics as well as airframe integration issues, safety, and manufacturability associated with novel modifications to existing landing gear. Those responding must have legal access to detailed design information for an existing main landing gear of a commercial transport and must be able to interact with the corresponding airframe manufacturer. Those responding shall furnish the names of the types of aircraft for which it has experience in the design/fabrication of the landing gear. For each aircraft landing gear, the respondent should also indicate whether it was involved in the design/fabrication of the entire gear assembly or just a portion thereof. If only a portion of the gear was designed/fabricated, the response should clearly identify the particular portion(s). The response shall include the names and resumes of key individuals who will be responsible for each of the following general areas: 1) aerodynamic analysis 2) acoustic analysis 3) airframe integration 4) manufacturing issues 5) safety issues The North American Industry Classification (NAIC) Code for this procurement is 541710 and the size standard under this code is 1,500 employees. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service.
