Description
The National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Diseases requires postgraduate medical residents, either PGY-2 or PGY-3, who can be credentialed within the NIH Clinical Center Board to provide primary care to clinical research patients. Residents will be required to perform history and physical examinations, write progress notes, dictate medical history and physical examination, discharge summaries and as indicated interim summaries. Residents normally will participate in-patient care founds, attend lectures, and provide in-house medical coverage. Residents will receive training on the NIH medical information system and clinical research protocols. Residents will be subject to professional evaluations of performance. Acceptable performance evaluations are a condition of any particular resident remaining on the contract. The contractor, may, subject to the approval of the Project Officer, replace a resident during the year or for periods of brief absence. Residents will be entitled to free parking, library privileges and reimbursement for meals. Residents must be able to report to duty on the NIH campus, Bethesda, MD, within one-hour?s notice for purpose of clinical patient care. The requirement is for estimated 12480 hours/year of service by medical residents at the planned rate of 240 hours a week, every week, for seven (7) years. Assigned residents may work up to 80 hours per week including an on call 24-hour shift every 4th day. The solicitation will be issued on or about 15 working days after publication of this notice with a planned closing date of 45 calendar days after the RFP issue date. See note 26.
