Description
The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. has a requirement. The item Cap, blasting: dual, in-line initiator, non-electric, 500 ft. minitube, XM21. The XM21 blasting cap assemblies shall consist of a M42C1 primer built into the end of 500 foot length of mini tube, outside diameter not to exceed 0.090 inch), with a non-electric, non delay blasting cap (outside diameter of .230 inch to .241 inch), length of 2.25 inch to 2.35 inch) attached at the other end with an output equivalent to a number 12 commercial blasting cap, and must be capable of initiating composition C-4. Attached to the primer end shall be the Firing Assembly, P/N 8822504 of the M81 igniter. Cap, blasting: Inert in- line initiator, non-electric, 500 ft. minitube, XM22 Inert. The intert XM22 shall physically represent the actual XM21, except all the components are inert. Cap, blasting in-line initiator, non-electric, 1000 ft. minitube, XM23. The XM23 blasting cap assemblies Shall consist of M42C1 primers built into the end of 1000 ft. length of minitube, outside diameter not to exceed 0.090 inch, with a non-electric, non-delaly blasting cap (outside diameter of .230 inch to .241 inch, length of 2.25 inch to 2.35 inch) attached at the other end with an output equivalent to a number 12 commercial blasting cap, and must be capable of initiating coposition C-4. Attached to the primer end shall be the Firing Assembly P/8822504 and the M81 Igniter. The contractor shall fabricate, test and deliver XM21, XM23 and XM22 Inert, in accordance with section C3.0 and QAA 1430. This Statement of work addresses hardware and data deliverable requirements for the contractor. The bid samples, at least 8 items each of XM21 or commercial equivalent, color optional, in its commercial packaging will be submitted with the proposal. A design verification testing VT is required. The VT sample shall be submitted no later than 90 days after contract award. The Government shall verify the soundness of the design and resistance to specified environments by conducting a verification Test. This contract will not procure data rights or designs of these items. Engineering changes to the baseline configuration shall be submitted as an Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) to the government for review and approval. Changes to the design or process may, at the Government's option, require First Article Testing (FAT) or Verification Testing (VT) at the contractor's expense. The contractor will be required to inform the Government, if he desires to change the design. The Government will have the option of requiring rerunning part of verification test to be performed at the contractor?s expense. There are no restrictions. This contract will run from FY02 thru FY06. Award will be contingent upon availability of funds.
