Description
NA . The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Assistant Product Manager for the Army Diagnostics Improvement Program (ADIP) is responsible for the acquisition of a state-of-the-art, commercial/non-developmental Embedded Digital System (EDS). The EDS will improve and increase the support in the areas of diagnostics, maintenance, readiness, training, human performance, and safety. These capabilities will be tailored to the family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTVs), High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehic les (HMMWVs), Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks (HEMTTs), and Interim Armored Vehicles (IAVs). A draft performance specification has been developed for an EDS. The EDS will be a vehicle-mounted system consisting of an embedded computer system, integrating hardware and software for diagnostics on diesel engine platforms with digital control units. The EDS shall be sufficiently equipped to act as a multifunctional device, able to perform the functional capabilities of other computer systems that may be installed in diesel engine platforms with digital control units. A questionnaire has been developed to assist the Government in defining the final performance specification by providing information about the technical capabilities of available commercial/non-developmental EDSs. No decision has been made at this time as to the type of procurement, i.e., full and open competition versus small business set-aside. Interested contractors may request a draft performance specification and questionnaire by contacting one of the following: Paul Hayes, (256) 876-6114, e-mail: P aul.Hayes@rdec.redstone.army.mil, FAX (256) 955-6201 or Cathy Miller-Robinson, (256) 842-9363, e-mail: cathy.robinson@rdec.redstone.army.mil, FAX (256) 955-6201. Requests for a draft performance specification and questionnaire should be made no later tha n 15 April 02.
