Description
NA This is a modification to a previous synopsis issued on 3/28/02. For clarification purposes, this material should be cold finished, annealed, and stress relieved. No preservatives are needed. Also for clarification, each of these bars weighs approximat ely 9 lbs. When packaging, there is a 3,000 lb maximum per pallet, so the maximum bars per pallet should be 333 each. There will be a 100% option quantity added to this solicitation. Add clause 52.217-6 Option for Increased Quantity. The contracting of ficer may exercise the option by written notice to the contractor within 60 days from the last schedule delivery. NOTE TO FAR CLAUSE 52.217-6: (a) This solicitation contains an evaluated option. (b) The Government reserves the right to increase the quanti ty of item(s) identified in (e) below by a quantity of up to and including but not exceeding 100 percent as an evaluated option at the price(s) offered below. (c) If the offeror does not offer an option price hereunder, the lowest price offered in the Sche dule for the item(s) identified in (e) below shall be the price used for evaluation/award of any option quantities. (d) Subject to the limitations contained in this clause, the Government may exercise this option on one or more occasions. (e) The option un it prices shall be on the same F.O.B. basis as the basic requirement. (f) Varying prices may be offered for the option quantities actually ordered and the dates when ordered. In as much as the unit price for the basic quantity may contain starting, load, testing, tooling, transportation or other costs not applicable to option quantities, offerors are requested to take these factors into consideration while setting forth the unit price(s) for the option quantities. The option price is expected (but not re quired) to be lower than the unit price for the initial quantity. (END OF NOTE).
