Description
LOT1 - For Replacement Only The U.S. Department of State, Overseas Buildings Operations, is seeking a firm to provide crested and uncrested Lead Crystal Glassware for overseas Foreign Service Posts. For the replacement of crystal already in use, an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Contract, with one base year plus four options years will be awarded. The successful offeror must have a facility for warehousing, packing and shipping within the United States. "Product Sample" will be required in accordance with specifications contained in the solicitation package. "Product samples" submitted by interested parties shall conform to the following: (a) match in shape and size of samples and specifications as stated in the solicitation. (b) Hand blown lead crystal. (c) Etched crest must be distinct and defined. (d) Good clarity and luster. (e) Rim edges smooth and even. (Special Note): The cascading preference source selection method will be used in evaluating the firms for contract award.. The cascading source selection method permits small and large businesses to submit offers. Offers from small business will be considered first. In accordance with FAR Subpart 19.5, any award resulting from the solicitation will be made to an eligible small business concern provided that (1) at least two competitive offers are received from two responsible small business concerns, and (2) award will be made at a fair market price. If conditions for award to a small business concern are not met, award will be made on the basis of full and open competition considering all offers submitted by responsible business concerns. The Government plans to issue the solicitation on or about April 20, 2002 and will be sending out the RFP upon request.Arrangements for viewing samples may be made by contacting Ms. Martha Persinger on 703-875-6253 or e-mailing her at persingermj@state.gov.
