Description
ISSUE DATE: 19 April 2002. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary for the construction of a new 120 SF mechanical room addition to the exterior of an existing duplex housing unit. Mechanical room shall be equipped with mechanical and electrical equipment necessary for conversion of existing electrical baseboard heating system to oil-fired forced hot water baseboard heating system. The work also includes providing a 275 gallon, light oil fuel tank with associated piping, chimney construction, oil-fired water heater installation, relocation of electrical power and water services, including existing electrical and water meters and service entrances requiring Contractor coordination with the Town and local power company. At least one unit shall be occupied during the work. NAICS code is 235110. Estimated cost range is between $100,000 and $250,000. Solicitation packages will be available on or about 4/19/2002. The date for receipt of bids is on or about 5/21/2002 at 2:00 pm local time. Our office no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
