Description
This notice is issued in advance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) to obtain qualified sources for the Global Positioning System (GPS) User Equipment (UE) Miniaturized GPS Airborne Receiver2000 (MAGR2000). SCOPE: The NAVSTAR GPS Joint Program Office intends to extend the current production contract F04701-98-D-0028, for the MAGR2000 to supply the government with an additional 760 Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). The MAGR2000 is a GPS Receiver Application Module (GRAM) based LRU with an "all-in-view" 12-channel receiver utilizing open systems architecture with room for 2 expansion slots for further upgrades. The MAGR2000 has been granted First Article Approval and will undergo operational flight testing shortly. Therefore, the government has not budgeted additional funds, associated with this contract extension, to pay for LRU development and integration and flight-testing (on previously certified platforms) of a second source. These will be direct replacement LRUs that shall comply with the CI-GRAM-400 and CI-MAGR-400A specifications, associated waivers (with both specifications) and ECPs 50817 and 50818. Specifications can be downloaded from: http://gps-web/Gpsarchives/3000-Library/3100-LIB/html/baseline/user/ci_ue_receivers.html Delivery is set for FY05 through FY08 with a delivery of 190 units per year. The first deliveries will commence 12 months after the order is placed. Ordering shall begin in January 04 and continue through December 07. The LRU must be qualified to the current standards and specifications prior to delivery. Intended source is Raytheon Systems Company, El Segundo, CA. Raytheon Systems Company is the sole manufacturer of MAGR2000s and is the only known company capable of providing the production requirement within the specified time period. STATEMENTS OF CAPABILITY/TEAMING PLANS: Interested parties are invited to submit a Statement of Capabilities (SOC), which includes the following information: a technical description of the GPS Receiver sufficient for a government evaluation of the system as equivalent to MAGR2000 system. Interested offerors must submit SOCs, which clearly show they are qualified to perform this effort. SOCs should be sent to SMC/CZK, 2420 Vela Way, Suite 1467, Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA 90245-4659 (Attn: Arlene Dudley). DECLARATION: This publication is for information only and does not constitute a Request For Proposal (RFP), government sponsorship of contractor charges against any government contract for proposal efforts, or a government promise to pay for any information received in response to this announcement. If no responses are received by 19 April 2002, to the effect that a comparable source is available, a modification will be issued to the current contract. No contract award will be made on the basis of offers or proposals received in response to this notice.
