- BROOM CASSETTES. 1) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; PROPOSALS ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. 2) Solicitation F65501-02-TA009 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). 3) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-5. 4) This solicitation is unrestricted. The NAICS code is 336399; Size standard: 750 employees. 5) ITEM(S): Brand Name requirement IAW FAR 6.302-1(c) for replacement broom cassette style bristles for Svenska Industrial Boarstar (SIB) cores. Quantity/Unit of Issue: 24 Sets (SE). Each set consists of 72 each 20 tuff section 32 9/16? in length, 36 each 10 tuff section 16 1/4? in length, and 36 each 8 tuff section 13? in length. 6) DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS: Replacement broom cassette style bristles for Svenska Industrial Boarstar cores for front mount broom and towed broom. (Brushes shall be designed to fit properly in the Svenska broom cores which are utilized on the Sweepster Model 3100 front mount broom and MB-314 towed broom.) Broom Bristle sections shall be cut in proper lengths to accommodate either front mount brooms or towed brooms (interchangeable). Wire tuffs shall be inserted into plastic cups and fastened to the bristle section; each section will be constructed from plastic with a metal cap inserted for strengthening the section with a 1/8? steel rod securing the wire tuffs for the length of each section. Wire tuffs will be 11? in length with no more than a 1/4? variance in length and each tuff shall be no more than 1 5/8? apart. Each 4 tuffs will be inter-connected with a polyweb. Svenska broom cassettes will not void manufacturer warranty. (Brand name requirement needed in order to not void Svenska broom core warranty.) Svenska Part Number 1646WBEL SP with 0.045 MM wire tuffs. Cassette brushes shall be packaged in containers that can be stacked upon each other for storage over long periods (i.e. wood crates). 7) DELIVERY: FOB DESTINATION to Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. Delivery must be accomplished NLT 2 Oct 2002. 8) FAR 52.212-1 ? Instructions to Offerors?Commercial, applies to this acquisition. 9) FAR 52.212-2 ? Evaluation ? Commercial Items. Award will be made based on the low price/technically acceptable offer. The government reserves the right to make award on the initial quote received without discussions. 10) Each offeror shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications--Commercial Items with Alternate 1 with the offer.
