Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Code 4.5.9, at St. Inigoes, MD, intends to initiate a competitive procurement for Advanced Display System (ADS) Consoles, Drawers, and associated components in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12. These modified commercial items shall be configured in accordance with the System Specification for Consoles and Drawers to support shipboard installation of the OD-220/TPX-42A(V)14 Display Enclosure and the Carrier Air Traffic Control Center. The contract type will be Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ). The procurement action is 100% set-aside for small business. The resultant contract for this equipment shall be for a period of one (1) Base Year Period, and four (4) one-year Option Year Periods. The guaranteed minimum number of units to be ordered will equal 36 units. The estimated maximum number of units for the full five-year period could equal one hundred eighty (180) units. The contract will be awarded on a competitive, best value basis. Significant evaluation factors will include: i) Technical approach to fabricating, and technical capability of the item offered to meet Government requirements; ii) Price; and iii) Past Performance. Interested parties will be able to obtain an electronic copy of the console, drawer, and associated component drawings at the time of the solicitation release by contacting the contract specialist. Solicitation number N00421-02-R-3148 will be released using Simplified Acquisition Procedures as described in FAR 13.5, and is therefore issued as a Request for Quote. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code for this requirement is 332322 with a size standard of 500 employees. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. Release of the solicitation is anticipated during April 2002. The solicitation will appear on the Naval Air Systems Command Home Page at http://www.navair.navy.mil/business/ecommerce/index.cfm.
