Description
The Atlantic Test Range at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, Maryland, is seeking eligible small business firms capable of providing a Wideband, High-Gain, Log-Periodic Antenna and a Dual Directional Coupler. Based on a review of industry response to this Sources Sought Synopsis, the Government will decide whether it is appropriate to offer the Antenna and Coupler as a competitive Small Business Set Aside. This office anticipates an award of a contract for this hardware no later than 30 April 2002. The appropriate NAICS is 334220, size standard 750 employees. THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability and adequacy of potential small business sources prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of a Request for Proposal. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: The Wideband, High-Gain, Log-Periodic Antenna shall cover an extremely difficult frequency band (80-5000 MHz) and must be tough enough for outdoor use. The maximum power input is 3,000 watts and the weight shall not exceed 7.48kg. The Coupler must provide flexibility in coupling medium power amplifiers to oscilloscopes, voltmeters, power meters, spectrum analyzers and other measuring instruments. The frequency rage shall be 25MHz-3GHz and weight may not exceed 1.36kg. A specification sheet further describing the Wideband Antenna and Dual Direction Coupler is available by contacting the Contract Specialist, Christy Hammett, hammettcl@navair.navy.mil. It is requested that interested small businesses submit to the contracting office a brief capabilities statement (no more than 5 pages in length, single-spaced, 12 point font minimum) demonstrating capability to provide the required hardware. In the capabilities statement, please include the company profile to include number of employees, annual revenue history, office location(s), DUNs number, and a statement regarding current small business status.
