Description
The Program Support Center (PSC), Division of Acquisition Management intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to obtain analytical chemistry services for Federal Occupational Health Service (FOH). The NAICS code is 621512. The PSC/FOH is responsible for defining occupational health for Federal Managers and assisting them in employing a sound management approach to occupational health. FOH provides occupational health consultation and services to Federal Agencies. For over 40 years FOH has assisted Federal managers in preserving, protecting and promoting the health, safety, and well being of their employees. An essential part of the program is the ability to assist federal managers in mitigating physical workplace hazards and stressors such as poor indoor air quality, workplace contamination by pathogens, excessive noise, handling of toxic materials, and work that must be performed in dangerous or unhealthy surroundings such as dust-filled grain elevators. Dealing with these conditions require that FOH be able to obtain fast, reliable reports from certified testing laboratories on the presence of dangerous substances in samples of air, soil, heating/ventilating/air conditioning system contaminants, etc., which FOH has collected from Federal workplaces. One contract laboratory (or laboratories under the management of a single contractor) will provide these analyses for the FOH program nationwide. The anticipated period of performance is a basic period of one (1) year with four (4) twelve (12) month option periods. The solicitation will be issued approximately fifteen (15) days after issuance of this synopsis and will be made available electronically at this address(es): http://www.eps.gov or http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Only electronic copies of the solicitation will be made available. Proposals will be due approximately 30 days after issuance of the solicitation. The incumbent contractor is Datachem Laboratories located at 960 West LeVoy Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84123.
