- Description
- Amendment 01 to SOL N02-CM-17017-19 revises the contract type to be awarded, from Performance Based to Cost Reimbursement Level of Effort as indicated below. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is seeking support for the Developmental Therapeutics Program (DTP), Division of Cancer Treatment Diagnosis and Centers (DCTDC). The DTP database includes chemical and biological information on approximately 500,000 compounds; 140,000 of which are classified as open and serves as a very valuable resource to the extramural community. There is a continuing need to perform high volume computerized full and substructure chemical searches of the DTP database in support of various segments of the program; compound screening and evaluation committees, Rapid Access to Intervention Development (RAID) projects, grantee requests, National Cooperative Drug Discovery Groups (NCDDGs) and structure-activity studies. Other searches involve published literature database, such as STN, NLM/MEDLARS, Beilstein, and patent literature with rapid access to relevant citation. There is also a need to generate systematic chemical nomenclature for selected compounds. The Contractor shall perform the following tasks, on-site at the Developmental Therapeutics Program offices located on 6130 Executive Blvd. in Rockville, Maryland. The Government will provide appropriate space and equipment for performance of the following tasks: (a) Structure searches, (b) Bibliographic searches, (c) Data item searches, and (d) Patent searches. The Contractor is required to generate systematic nomenclature using references such as Index and Naming of Chemical Compounds, Chemical Abstracts Index Guide, and Ring Systems Handbook. The Contractor is required maintain appropriate documentation of the searches and output and provide timely reports. The Principal Investigator is required to be knowledgeable in chemical documentation and retrieval and in substructure searching and systematic nomenclature. One (1) Cost Reimbursement Level of Effort contract is expected to be awarded to a small business with the capability to perform high volume computerized full and substrucure chemical searches. This acquisition has been designated as a 100% set-aside under NAICS Code 514191. (See numbered Note 1.) Competition is limited to eligible small business concerns. This is a re-competition of a current contract N02-CM-67247. The solicitation is scheduled for electronic release on or about October 19, 2001. The RFP may be accessed through the Internet at http://rcb.nci.nih.gov It is the offerors responsibility to monitor the above Internet site for the solicitation release and any amendments, if any. POTENTIAL OFFERORS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DOWNLOADING THEIR OWN COPY OF THE SOLICITATION AND AMENDMENTS. No collect calls will be accepted.
