- Description
- The purpose of this admendment is to answer questions from the site-visit held 4 apr 02. All else remains the same. 1. Please define more precisely how the site must be left? What to do about bull dozer tracks and torn up grass? Answer: 1. Site should be only left with ash left over from the burn. Care must be taken to keep ash out of the stormwater culverts so there are no floods the next time it rains. All trees and vegetation should be cut as closest to the ground as possible. There shouldn't be any dozer tracks or torn up grass. Ruts should be graded and seeded/watered. Sodding not necessary. 2. Wood is to be burned in ravine, this ravine has water running through it, what about fuel used to lite fire getting into water, and what about ash getting into water? Answer: 2. We really should be using a burn torch to get the fire going and no accelerants. Ash in the water shouldn't be a problem. 3. If fire is started with wind blowing in an OK direction, what if later it blows toward runway? Answer: 3. There shouldn't be a problem with the fire blowing towards the runway. All air traffic will be shut down in advance. More of an issue with flames towards Golf Course Rd. That road will have to be shut down. 4. How small must wood be burnt to in the end? Can small piece be buried on site? Answer: 4. Small pieces of wood can remain and be buried on site. 5. What is to be done with the trash and materials in the ravine now? Answer: Leave all trash and materials in the ravine.
