- Description
- The Department of the Interior, Minerals Management Service intend to make a firm-fixed price, sole source award to VISICU, Inc., for the Telemedicine Directorate, North Atlantic Regional Medical Command and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. This requirement is being issued by Gov.Works under the franchise authority of the Department of Interior on behalf of Walter Reed Army Medical Center in accordance with FAR 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The army has a requirement fir the critical care telemedicine consultation project linking Ft. Belvoir to the critical care service at Walter Reed. The vendor offers a unique product that is not available through any other source. The new equipment requested for Ft. Belvoir will interface with existing telemedicine equipment already in use at Walter Reed. It is planned to transmit real-time physiologic data from Ft. Belvoir to Walter Reed for consultative support by board certified intensivists in the management of their critically ill patients. VISICU is the only company that has the equipment, software, and technical expertise to facilitate this project. (Statement of Work available at the address referenced below). Development of this expertise will significantly impact on the care of military personnel, dependents, and retirees. It will assist in the care of the critically ill patients at smaller MTFs that do not have trained intensivists assigned to their facility. The period of performance commence May 1, 2002 through January 31, 2003. The intent of this synopsis is for informational purposes only. This is NOT a request for competitive quotes. However, all information received within five (5) days of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
