- Description
- The Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific, Naval Engineering Division intends to contract for drydock and repair of the USCGC GEORGE COBB (WLM 564), a 175-foot buoy tender, home ported in San Pedro, CA. Performance period is expected to begin on 11 September 2002 and complete on 02 November 2002. The solicitation will be issued, in accordance with the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program (SBCDP), on or about 01 May 2002, with a proposal closing date of on or about 05 June 2002. The work items will include the following: Production Control Gantt Bar Chart; Appendages (U/W) Leak Test; Hull Plating, U/W Body Inspection; Hull Plating, U/W Body Ultrasonic Test; ECC Void Structural Modification; Tanks (Forepeak) Clean and Inspect; Inspect Z-Drive Propulsion Units; Modify Waster Pieces in Sea Chests; Aux SW System Piping Modifications; Fathometer Transducer General Maintenance; Sea Strainer Overhaul; Sea Valve (<=2.5 Inches) Renewal; Sea Valve (>2.5 Inches) Overhaul; Hydraulic Flush Buoy Deck Machinery System; Chain In-Haul Device & Winch Level 2 Inspection and Repair; Chainstopper Replacement; Cross Deck Winches Level 2 Inspection and Repair; Padeyes, Links, Gripes, Binders & Jacks Level 1 Inspect and Repair; Single Point Davit Level 2 Inspect and Repair; Buoy & Cargo Handling Crane Level 2 Inspect and Repair; Decks (Exterior) Preserve, General; Tanks (Potable Water) Preserve; Buoy Decks (Exterior) Preserve, 100%; Hull Plating, U/W Body Preserve, Partial; Cathodic Protection/Zinc Anode Renewal; Temporary Service Drydock Provide; Drydocking Accomplish; Appendages (U/W) Preserve, Internal; and Hull Plating U/W Body Preserve, Additional. This is an unrestricted best value procurement. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation related contracts, loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rate to provide accounts receivable financing.
