- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) is submitting this Request for Information (RFI). The VBA is soliciting information from General Services Administration (GSA)Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) Contractor's ONLY. The approved VBA national telephone strategy focuses on telecommunications technology advancements as a way to support customer service requirements. The VBA initiated a VIC in the Service Delivery Network (SDN) 2 area combining the customer service resources of seven regional office (RO) facilities into a seamless VIC operation. The VIC functionality provided efficient call delivery, call control, and call management processes, which successfully supported the objectives of the VIC pilot project and the VBA business requirements. The SDN 2 VIC pilot platform consisted of telephone systems and components acquired from ECI Telecom, Inc. Based on the success of the SDN2 VIC, the VBA is expanding the VIC concept nationwide. The VBA has a nationally installed base of advanced digital telephone systems from various GSA schedule manufactures, including ECI Telecom, Avaya and Nortel. Each manufacture has asserted that they adhere to the QSIG and Computer Supported Telecommunications Applications (CSTA) international interoperability standards. Prior to VIC expansion nationwide, the VBA requires proof of the interoperability capabilities and VIC functionality that is supported by the heterogeneous digital telephone systems in a non-production environment. This is NOT a Request for Quote. Requests for RFQ and/or to be placed on a mailing list will NOTE be accepted. Should the Government proceed with is requirement a number of firms will be issued the RFQ. Once again, if the solicitation is released to FSS contractors, it's anticipated release date is on/or about June 10, 2002. A list of questions along with the statement of work (SOW) is attached. Should you have problems down loading the document contact Jacqueline M. Dennis at (202) 273-6922 or email jacqueline.dennis@mail.va.gov to request a copy of the documents.
