Description

***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Instron Corporation of Canton, Massachusetts, for one (1) Single Axis Advanced Fatigue Package for FastTrack 8800 and 8500 PLUS (V37) Controllers, (1) Strain Channel for 8500 PLUS V37 Systems with 250mm Wide Operator Panels, and (1) 8-Channel Data Acquisition for 8500 PLUS Controllers***Sole source determination is based on the need for these parts to be completely compatible with NIST's existing Instron machine. Instron is the only known source of parts completely compatible with the existing machine.***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and shall be completed within 60 days after receipt of order.***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 employees.***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, responses received by April 26, 2002 will be considered by the Government.***A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
