- Description
- Environmental Consulting Services-Lead Based Paint Assessment. The VA Medical Center, Leeds, MA has a requirement for consulting services to conduct on-site assessments for the presence of Lead Based Paint in designated residences, dormitories, and childcare centers at the following VHA Medical Centers: Manchester, NH- 2 residences and 16 units of 1 dormitory building; Leeds, MA _ 12 residences , 9 units in 1 dormitory building, and 1 childcare center (5, 183 sq ft); Togus, ME _ 14 residences, and 7 units of 1 dormitory building; Newington, CT-5 residences; West Haven, Ct-1 residence and 1 childcare center (7,920 gsf); Bedford, MA _ 14 Residences; Jamaica Plain, MA-1 childcare center (3000 sq ft); West Roxbury, MA-1 childcare center (1200 sq ft); Brockton, MA (2500 sq Ft); White River Jct, Vt- 1 childcare center (4822 sq ft). The assessment will determine the existence, nature, severity, and locations of lead hazards. The written assessment will provide an explanation of the findings, options for reducing lead hazards, an estimate of projected costs, as well as autocad drawings. The inspection of areas will be completed by trained and certified personnel who will report risk assessment, perform lead inspections, lead determinations, clearance examinations, and lead-safe evaluations in accordance with HUD regulations (24CFR 35.92), EPA regulations (40 CFR Part 745.226-227), OSHA regulations (29 CRF Parts 1926.62 and 1920.1035) and applicable State and local regulations for each location. In the case of regulation conflict, the most stringent rule will apply. Further detail of scope of work and evaluation criteria for proposals will be issued in posted solicitation on or about 25 April 2002.
