Description
The US Army Tacom-Ardec, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 is conducting a market survey for 5.56mm, (linked and individual) 9mm, 7.62mm (linked) and 12-gauge frangible non-toxic limited range training ammunition to be used in support of military training. The program is designed to search out and obtain information from ammunition manufacturers that can produce frangible ammunition, which is capable of being effectively, and accurately fired on reduced distance and indoor training ranges, in standard service weapons without the requirement for any special weapon modifications or the presence of ancillary devices. The ammunition?s (tracer and ball where applicable) trajectory and performance characteristics shall be comparable to standard service rounds out to 100 meters and have a maximum range that is less than standard ammunition. The rounds shall be non-toxic, lead free, and have a unit cost that is comparable to standard service ammunition. Submitting parties should be capable of producing one/some/or all of the following: 5.56 mm, (single and linked) 9mm, (ball and tracer) (linked) 7.62mm ammunition, and/or 12 gauge frangible cartridges that meet the above criteria. All responsible interested sources are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualification data in regard to the above survey no later than May 1, 2002 to: Commander, U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC, ATTN: AMSTA-AR-AQ-APD, Terry Niederhaus, Bldg. 10, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. Please include Company Name, Address, telephone number, technical point of contact, Materiel Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) on their product, brochures/literature. This is only a Market Survey.
