Description
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center intends to issue a solicitation on a competitive basis for the acquisition for two (2) different Unfired Pressure Vessels (one each) with options for an additional one(1), two 92), or three (3) units of each Vessel if the options are exercised. (The only difference between the two vessels will be the dimensions for the top end plug.) On overview of the construction specifications is as follows: ASME BPVC SEC VIII D1, constructed and stamped, seamless, forged, 5,000 design working pressure, minimum safety factor of 4, corrosion allowance of 1/16 inch. Dimensions of the vessel(s) shall be approximately 16 inches in diameter by 12 feet long . The vessel shall be cylindrical in shape with two hemisphere ends. Capacity of 10 cubic foot per vessel, water volume (74.75 gallons); 2,746 scf per vessel of dry compressed air at 4,500 psig. Temperature rating of -20F to 200F. Vessel(s) shall have threaded connection on both ends. Plug drawing and specifications to be included with RFQ. ssel(s) shall come with design drawings and engineering design data stamped by a registered professional engineer. Design data shall include calculations for wall thickness, principle stresses, stress concentrations, corrosion allowance, burst strength, and factor of safety. ASME section 8 Div.1 documentation is to be provided with each vessel. Testing and inspection(after heat treatment) specifics will be in RFQ. Vessel(s) shall be shipped capped and charged with nitrogen. Each vessel shall be provided with a cap rated for 6,000 psi working pressure. Provide support racks for installation in a vertical position. Shop drawings of the vessel(s) and support racks shall be submitted for approval prior to fabrication. The Government intends to award a single contract on a Firm fixed Price Contract basis using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. A request for Quote will be released on or before 1 March 02. Delivery is required to be F.O.B. Destination at Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, Newport, RI within 90 Days after contract award.
