- Sources sought to conduct field studies of Alaskan Intertidal Communities to interpret long term effects on natural and human disturbances as a continuation of its long term monitoring program to assess the impacts of oil spills and other large scale disturbances in subarctic ecosystems. Task 1- contractor will determine if Fucus "cycling" phenomenon observed after the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill can be repeated to and be attributed to oil or clean up effects. Task 2- contractor will investigate the relationship between physico-chemical conditions and infaunal community abundance and structure. Task 3- contractor will assist in the study of food web dynamics involving benthic microalgae, pelagic, phytoplankton and intertidal littleneck clams. Period of performance for specified work is May 15, 2002 through Dec 31, 2002. This is a 100% small business set aside acquisition.
