Description

NA This amendment is in response to industry inquires. We are amending the solicitation to show that the intent of the information provided in the synopsis on the ?500 Horsepower class? covers a range, i.e. the 300-800 horsepower. The purpose of the solicit ation is to increase the state-of-the-art in component technology for an affordable high-performance small engine. The purpose is to give the offerors engine performance information for a 500 horsepower engine to guide them as to how much we are looking t o push technology in these component programs. This performance will change when scaling engine size within this class. We are in the early stages of the Army?s defining future UAV platforms and missions. The only thing we know is that we will need to w ork small engine technology. The $120k per engine production cost (including basic HMU or FADEC control system) is defined as the average production cost of the estimated 1000 engines. The estimated engine SFC and SHP/Wt requirements do not require inclu sion of an engine IPS system with its performance and weight penalty.
