Description

NA This effort involves contractor support for the aft center of gravity expansion program for the AH-64D Longbow Apache. The AH-64D Longbow Apache has had significant growth in capability and gross weight over the orginal A-Model. The tendency for the cent er of gravity to move aft to the previously demonstrated acceptable longitudinal limit has been apparent as the new capabilities have been added. This effort involves extensive analysis and flight testing in order to establish a new aft and lateral center of gravity envelope for the AH-64D. The Government intends to award a delivery order to Basic Ordering Agreement DAAH23-01-G-0024 to sole source contract McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Company, 5000 East McDowell Road, Mesa, AZ 35215-9797. The authority pe rmitting other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1,entitled Only one or limited number of responsible sources, and no supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. As sole manufact urer of the AH-64 Helicopter, MDHC maintains the exclusive engineering knowledge, design and test history associated with the AH-64 design. All responsible sources may sbmit a proposal which shall be considered by this agency. SEE NUMBERED NOTE(S):22,23
