Description
Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) intends to negotiate on a sole source emergency basis with Verizon Federal, Inc. as sole make and model, all or none, for the procurement of on going telephone-switch maintenance services at the Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, AL (MSFC) onsite and offsite facilities, Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF), New Orleans LA, and in country Russia. This maintenance will support the functionality and connectivity of the MSFC Intecom PABX telephone system currently in use at MSFC and MAF as well as the Northern Telecom systems in Russia. This requirement shall have one (1) base year and one (1) year option period. Period of Performance (POP) for the base year shall be 5/1/02 through 4/30/03. CSC intends to purchase this Maintenance from Verizon Federal, Inc. pursuant to FAR Part 13.106-1(b), which allows for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonably available from only one source. Interested and responsible parties shall provide sufficient information not later than April 19, 2002 such as company name, point of contact, a brief history of similar Maintenance services, Solicitation Number, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address via e-mail to kaye.h.pettus@msfc.nasa.gov to request a copy of the RFP. Responses received after April 19, 2002 without the required information noted above will be considered non-responsive to this synopsis. The solicitation number must be noted on the request for the RFP. A determination by Computer Sciences Corporation to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open cost competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of Computer Sciences Corporation. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available via e-mail in approximately fifteen (15) days from the posted date of this synopsis to the firms that respond to this synopsis that provide the required information. The RFP will include technical documentation (SOW), and all relevant information for proposal preparation. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS ARE "NOT" ACCEPTED IN RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor this Internet site for the release of any amendments,and clarifying questions and answers at http://procurement.nasagov . This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP).
