Description
The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is seeking information from any commercial sources capable of providing, in whole, a Commercial Off the Shelf/ Non-Developmental Item (COTS/NDI) 7 1/2 Ton Rough Terrain Crane to replace its current inventory of 167 Light Rough Terrain Cranes over a four-year period commencing Fiscal Year 2004. The required product characteristics include: provide variable load lifting capacity up to a minimum of 7.5 tons; deployable as an external load by heavy lift helicopter; maximum curb weight less than 26,000 pounds; less than 96 inches wide, less than 102 inches high, and less than 27 feet long; transportable by standard rail, marine and highway modes of transportation; transportable on military aircraft such as C-130, C-141, C-5 and C-17 without disassembly; has diesel and JP-8 fuel capacity; has all-wheel drive, two-wheel, four-wheel and crab-steering; has curb-circle less than 40 feet; self-deployable over rough terrain and operable in environmental extremes; has enclosed cab to allow for extended operations in all weather conditions; air-conditioning in cab; capable of fording in at least 30 inches of water with no equipment preparation required; capable of overland speed of at least 20 mph with a cruising range of at least 30 miles; has established worldwide customer service capabilities including Pacific Rim locations such as Hawaii and Japan; includes a standard commercial warranty with options for an extension to 60 months. Manufacturer should provide demonstrated performance test results and analytical data supporting the off-road and highway operating capability of the product including but not limited to stability, reliability, availability, maintainability and durability of the product. Firms possessing the capabilities to accomplish this requirement are invited to submit a statement of qualification, enclose product literature, past performance information, current GSA or other schedule information (if applicable) and price schedules/catalogues. Responses to this RFI should be received no later than 31 May 2002.
