- This is a Sources Sought synopsis. This is not a solicitation. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to identify other qualified sources prior to the release of any potential solicitation to procure 9 each ARC-210 Receiver/Transmitter (RT-1797). The ARC-210 Receiver/Transmitter is a part of the Communications and Navigation Management System (CNMS) for the B1B aircraft. The ARC-210 Receiver/Transmitter offers Line-of-Site (LOS) communications and provides UHF, VHF and SATCOM voice communications in both clear and jammed environments. The ARC-210 may be controlled via the Control Display Unit (CDU) or the ARC-210 Control Panel. The ARC-210 provides electronic preset channels, wide-band audio for secure voice/data communications, 121.5/243.0 MHZ guard frequencies, retransmit capability, automatic direction finding (ADF) receive capability, Built-in-Test that isolates failures to a subassembly, and Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) and Non-DAMA SATCOM capabilities. The dimensions are: Weight-6.35 kg (14.0 lb), Width-127.0 mm (5.00 inch), Height-142.0 mm (5.60 inch) and Depth-270.0 mm (10.64 inch). The RT-1797 radio was modified from an existing commercial radio (P/N: RT-1556) to meet the Government's specificaitons and requirements. The current source for this radio is Rockwell-Collins, CAGE: 13499. Detailed technical data and drawings for the manufacture of this radio are not available from the Government. Any interested source that can provide this requirement is invited to submit a written qualification package including the following information: 1) contractor name and phone number, 2) a brief statement detailing capabilities to provide such item, 3) a list of names and phone numbers of references to whom you have provided this item, and 4) type of business. Interested sources are requested to submit a package by close of business on 3 May 2002, no later than 4:00 p.m. local time. All data received in response to this annoucement marked or designated as corporate or proprietary information will be fully protected from release outside the Government. Availability of any formal solicitation will be announced separately. The Sources Sought announcement is requested for informational purposes only. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this synopsis and submittals will not be returned to the sender. An Acquisition Ombudsman, Colonel Joseph P. Maryeski, Director, Commander's Staff, has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during proposal development. You should only contact the Ombudsman with issues or problems you cannot satisfactorily resolve with the program manager and/or contracting officer. The Ombudsman role is to hear concerns, issues, and recommendations and communicate these to the appropriate government personnel. The Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality if desired.
