- Description
- The U. S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set-aside an acquisition for Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) concerns only. The estimated magnitude of this construction project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 233320 and the small business size standard is $28.5 Million. The acquisition is to Upgrade Station Port Huron, Phase II at the U. S. Coast Guard Station, Port Huron, Michigan. The scope of the project consists of constructing a new station building, storage building, access road and parking lot and associated site improvements including landscaping, utility services, fencing, site lighting, etc. and incidental related work. Work includes a base bid item. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to be issued under full and open competition procedures. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail or facsimile to Mrs. Roberta Smith at rhsmith@fdcclant.uscg.mil or (757) 852-3495 (fax). In your response, include a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor and also include your certification from SBA showing that you are certified as a HUBZone small business concern. Your response is requested by April 18, 2002. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set-aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) web site.
