Description
Tyndall, AFB is seeking a certified water well drilling contractor to perform services at Carbelle, FL and Tyndall AFB, FL. The contractor shall plug and cap an abandoned well at the ACMI facility in Carabelle, FL. The well is listed in the Water Management District's records as well #15 Camp G Johnston, 83 feet deep, 68 feet of 10 inch casing. The contractor shall clean all debris from the well, and fill it with cement from bottom to top. The contractor shall be a certified well driller. Prior to doing the work, the contractor must obtain a well closure permit from the Water Management District. Since the site is secured, coordination with the CEV will be required prior to site visits. The contractor shall repair the 4 inch well casing located near the old fire training pit on the airfield. The contractor shall fix the 5 inch to 6 inch hole in the ground level well casing. The well is not being used for potable purposes at this time. It has a submersible pump, however, the depth of the well is unknown. The contractor will install a backwash filter system at the Ammo well. The well is 480 feet deep, has a 6 inch casing down to 315 feet and has a capacity of about 60 gallons per minute. The raw water is high in iron, from 0.5 ppm to 0.9 ppm and Flouride levels up to 3.4 ppm. The contractor shall install a filter system on the raw water to reduce the amount of iron to an acceptable level. Please down load the solicitation from this site, because paper solicitation will not be distributed.
