Description

The U. S. Department of the Interior, Fish & Wildlife Services (FWS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with International Brotherhood of Painters & Allied Trades, 1750 New York Avenue, NW. Washington, DC 20006. The contractor is to instruct and supervise classroom, shop, and actual on-site hands project training to trainees based upon a nationally approved core training curriculum that is open entry, open exit, competency based and self-paced in the craft of painting and related skills. The contractor must also provide a nationwide placement-service system for trainees. On site contractor personnel must have the capability of providing technical assistance and craft expertise in the development, design, coordination and implementation of the center's annual vocational skills project plan. The training shall be provided at the Department of the Interior and Agriculture Civilian Conservation Centers (CCCs) and according to the techniques and standards developed by the contractors. Each training program shall be established for a 52-week period and is to include a minimum of 1,000 hours of vocational training. Period of performance shall be from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003 with an option to extend performance for an additional four (4) one (1) year periods. Solicitation Number is to be issued on or about May 18, 2002. No telephone requests will be accepted. See Note 22.
