- Description
- Services of an Architect-Engineer firm with specialized experience in design and construction of hospital projects to participate in investigation, design, preparation of working drawings/construction documents, and construction period services for Project No. 596-02-104, ?RENOVATE EYE CLINIC, CDD? at VA Medical Center, Cooper Drive Division, Lexington, KY. Project involves renovation of existing space to change the location and increase the size of the existing Eye Clinic (Ophthalmology program). The project renovates a total of 6,940 DGSF (departmental gross square feet) of various outpatient clinical functions and medical offices to allow for relocation of clinical Library functions into other space on the second floor, CDD, and phased renovation following in which previous clinical Library space is renovated for the CDD Eye Clinic function. Demolition of the previous Eye Clinic space is included to shell the space for future functions. Level of finish of the previous Eye Clinic will be bid alternate for the project. Estimated construction cost range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Project drawings will be accomplished in the AutoCad.dwg format; specifications will be accomplished in the Microsoft Word .doc format. Area of consideration is restricted to firms within 100 miles radius of VAMC, Lexington, KY. Interested firms, with required specialization must submit appropriate data described in Numbered Note 24 no later than COB June 6, 2002. Respondents will be reviewed on the basis of: professional qualifications; specialized experience and technical competence in projects of similar type; ability to accomplish the work in the required timeframe; and past performance on contracts for projects of similar type. With reference to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, this solicitation is issued on an unrestricted basis. North American Industrial Classification System No. 541310, with a size standard of $4 million, is applicable. This is not a Request for Proposals.
