Description

Notice is hereby provided of the government requirement to procure for the installation of ballistic windows at the Jose V. Toledo Federal Building & U. S. Courthouse, Recinto Sur St., San Juan, P. R.. The successful contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, materials, and supervision. The proposed construction includes, but is not limited to selected demolition, partial dismantling of existing construction around four east-facing window openings, two each at the second and third floor judges chambers and toilet rooms, installation of new bullet-resistant windows, and reconstruction and refinishing of the impacted area. This procurement is 100 % open to small business concerns. The magnitude of this construction project is estimated between $25,000 - $100,000.00. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS code is 235920 and the size standard is $12 million. Performance and payment bonds will be required following award pursuant to the Miller Act. A bid guarantee is also required. The solicitation number is: GS-02P-02-PIC-0025. Anticipated IFB issue date is May 13, 2002. All responsible and qualified sources may submit a bid that will be considered by the agency. The solicitation notice and amendments to the solicitation will only be available for downloading on the GSA FedBizOpps website at www.fedbizopps.gov. This solicitation incorporates documents, which are not available electronically. Contractors are requested to provide a street address for the solicitation package, drawings and specifications will be sent by overnight delivery and cannot be delivered to a post office box. Prospective contractors are required to request to the Contracting Officer, and submit a Request for Construction Document form which will be verified, prior to the dissemination of Sensitive Building Information (BDU). All written requests for the BDU Form and solicitation, should include contractor email address, a Valid Tax (IRS) ID Number of the company requesting the information, DUNS number, a copy of a valid business license (if required by the jurisdiction where the business is incorporated or where the job is located). The license at a minimum shall provide the name, address, phone number of the company, state of incorporation, and the name of the individual legally authorized to act for the company. The business must be of the type required to do the work. If a business license is not required by the jurisdiction, the information shall be provided and certified, to the attention of Wanda A. Cadilla at the email address shown. A Valid picture state driver's license shall be required of the person (s) picking up SBU Documents. Phone verification must be made to a previously validated authorized user that the individual (s) picking up the documentation is authorized to do so by the company obtaining the documents. SBU documents will not be released to any individual or firm who has not, either previously or at the time of pickup, supplied the required documentation. Facsimile submissions will not be accepted.
