Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. REQUESTS FOR A SOLICITATION WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE: The 50th Contracting Squadron at Schriever AFB (SAFB) Colorado is conducting market research to determine the existence of potential small business sources to perform base-wide custodial services. It is anticipated the period of performance will commence 1 October 2002 and end 30 September 2003, with four (4) Government unilateral renewal options of one year each (1 October 2003 through 30 September 2007). The information in this notice is based on the best and most current information available to date. This information is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. Updated information will be provided in future announcements and posted electronically on the Federal Business Opportunities homepage at www.eps.gov as available. The Government is currently in discussions with the South/Central Regional office of National Industries for the Severely Handicapped (NISH) to perform this requirement under the Javits-Wagner-O?Day Act. It has yet to be determined whether or not the nonprofit agency possesses the capabilities required to perform the requirements outlined below. If the determination is made that NISH has the capabilities to perform, the requirement will not be advertised further. If the determination is made that NISH does not possess the necessary capabilities, this acquisition may be conducted as an 8(a) competition or as a small business set-aside. Responses to this synopsis will be used for market research to determine what, if any, set-aside procedures the acquisition will be conducted under. This requirement will involve contractor performance of multiple tasks required to provide complete custodial services for SAFB. The contractor will be required to provide services to approximately 28 facilities totaling approximately 543,000 square feet. Still subject to change, this requirement includes contractor performance of basic cleaning services, basic restroom/locker room cleaning services, periodic cleaning services and special event cleaning services. These services shall include, but are not limited to, floor maintenance, refuse removal, dusting, cleaning interior/exterior windows and general spot cleaning. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 561720: Janitorial Services with a size standard of $14M. Interested and qualified sources are requested to provide a brief statement of current capability and letter of interest. Interested and qualified sources are requested to provide the following information: (1) company name, point of contact, e-mail address, telephone and facsimile numbers, type and business size; (2) a list of your most recent and relevant DOD or commercial contracts (not to exceed five) to include names, points of contact, phone numbers, value and type of contract, period of performance, and brief description; and (3) information telling us about your company and why you think you can perform this contract. Respondents are asked to limit submissions to ten (10) pages or less, or the minimum number of pages necessary to address the requirements specified in this synopsis; using 10-point type or larger. Any information provided is voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information that is submitted in response to this SOURCES SOUGHT synopsis. In order to be considered in this market survey responses are required not later than close of business (COB) 30 Apr 02. Telephone or fax responses are not acceptable. Written responses must be mailed to the 50th Contracting Squadron, 1Lt Danny Kenison, 300 O?Malley Blvd, STE 49, Schriever AFB, CO 80912-3049.
