Description
Fleet & Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound intends to procure Sleeves, Centrifugally cast, 688 Class, which meet the following requirements: 1) 1 each forward bearing journal sleeve, 25.250 inch OD x 22.900 inch ID x 8 ft 11 inch long; material copper-nickel 70-30 per ASTM B369-96, alloy C96400, centrifugally cast; 2) 1 each propeller bearing/grounding devise for prop shaft, sleeve; 25.250 inch OD x 22.855 inch ID x 10 ft 6 inch long; material copper-nickel 70-30 per ASTM B369-96, allow C06400, centrifugally cast. A portion of the requirement is Level 1 Subsafe material. ISO 9002 or MIL-I-45208A Inspection System is required. Testing and data items are required as follows: hydrostatic testing, material certification (chemical/mechanical), radiography, weldability and liquid penetrant. The solicitation is currently anticipated to include a base quantity of one set, plus four option quantities of one set each. Delivery of the base quantity is required within 90 days after date of contract; option quantity deliveries are required within 90 days after date of option exercise. Initial inspection shall be at source with final inspection and acceptance at destination, which is Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton WA. FOB Destination, Bremerton WA. This acquisition will be conducted using FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation. (This is not a commercial - FAR Part 12 - acquisition.) A firm-fixed price supply type contract is anticipated. This procurement is unrestricted. All responsible sources may submit an offer that will be considered by FISC Puget Sound. When issued, the RFP will be posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) web link "www.neco.navy.mil". It is currently anticipated that the RFP will be posted at NECO on or about 8 May 2002, with a 30-day closing. All firms wishing to submit an offer are responsible for downloading their own copy of the RFP from this website (WinZIP is required) and to frequently monitor that site for any amendments to the RFP. No telephone requests will be accepted. No paper copies of the RFP and/or amendments will be mailed. Failure to respond to electronically posted solicitations and associated amendments prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals may render your offer nonresponsive and result in rejection.
