- Description
- The Office of Naval Research (ONR) seeks proposals for the development of technologies that provide enhanced capabilities and functionality for future Command & Control (C2) and Combat Systems, in support of FORCEnet and network centric operations. There are six main areas of interest: (1) information management; (2) image processing and exploitation; (3) visualization technology; (4) battle space decision aids; (5) networked C2 for combat application; and (6) information network situational awareness. Selected projects will be funded under the C2 and Combat Systems Discovery and Invention Program, with an anticipated start in October 2002. The Program will focus on technologies in the six aforementioned thrust areas that can support the requirements of FORCEnet and network centric warfare. The goals of the program are to develop a capability for performing integrated decision-making and mission execution to achieve battle-space superiority. The technologies will provide a foundation for integrated decision-making and mission execution across command echelons through interconnected C2 and Combat Systems in a network centric operation. A full program description of this announcement is found below in Section II, entitled, Research Opportunity Description. A copy of this BAA is available at www.onr.navy.mil.
