Description
As a part of its Market Research, the Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), Tactical Defense Message System (TDMS) Program Office is seeking industry review and comment of its draft documentation for its TDMS requirement. MCSC has a requirement for TDMS that will provide Defense Message System (DMS) Local Control Center (LCC) capabilities to Marine Expeditionary Forces (MEFs) and Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs) when ashore. The system design shall be COTS equipment-based to the maximum extent practicable, be transportable and be ruggedized (to best commercial practice standards). Additionally, the contractor shall provide Integrated Logistics Support to include worldwide logistics support, warranty service, system user training, and system documentation. The TDMS Statement of Work and Draft Request for Proposal can be found at http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/mcscctq/tdms.htm. We invite industry to comment on all draft documents and forward any comments and/or questions to botkinlr@mcsc.usmc.mil. Draft documents will be periodically updated on this web page until formal release. Questions/comments should be submitted to the Contracting Officer by 29 November 2001. All questions submitted will be answered in writing and posted on the website. Industry firms capable of accomplishing the required services, in whole or by teamed effort are invited to submit an affirmative response to this notice. Partial solutions should not be submitted. Firms should include literature, brochures, specification sheets, prior experience in this type of effort and capability summaries directly addressing their ability to meet the aforementioned needs. Responses shall be limited to 20 pages for the technical information. Potential sources are requested to send a letter of interest, previous business experience with similar efforts, business size and a corporate point of contact to the Marine Corps Systems Command by 05 December 2001. THE MARINE CORPS DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED.
