Description

Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to perform operations necessary to furnish and install a mixing device on an underground 20,000 gallon fuel storage tank. Day tank is used for storage of fuel for a steam plant. Used oil and JP-5 are mixed in this tank and blended for firing 4 large steam boilers. Mixer shall be capable of mixing 20,000 gallons in a 30 minute span every 4 hours. Mixer shall also have steam heat capacity for heating the circulated fuel oil. Work includes the removal and replacement of the existing storage tank inlet piping, installation of electrical power panels and timer controls. Steam supply and condensate piping is available adjacent to the tank and the connection to the mixer shall be part of this work. All incidental piping and electrical modifications needed to provide a complete and operational system are part of this scope of work. In addition, CG Drawing No. 23736 will be provided to illustrate the work to be completed and details at the site. Work shall be performed on site adjacent to the steam plant for the USCG Integrated Support Command in Kodiak, Alaska. The Contractor will be shown the exact location by the Contracting Officer. Contractor is responsible for field verification of all material sizes and quantities necessary for the complete installation of this project before quoting. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED MATERIALS: None Performance Period is 30 - 45 days. SUBMITTALS DUE UPON AWARD include but are not limited to: manufacturer's catalogs, standard schedules, performance charts, instructions, brochures, diagrams, etc., in addition to laboratory data, MSDS's, references / installer's qualifications. Lack of adequacy of references shall be at the sole discretion of the government and may constitute grounds for disqualification. CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH requirements of: ASTM, CFR, MIL SPEC, FED STD, applicable OSHA regulations and Coast Guard Safety Regulations. ADDITIONAL SPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS ARE CONTAINED IN STATEMENT OF WORK THAT WILL BE INCLUDED WITH REQUEST FOR QUOTE DOCUMENTS WHEN THEY ARE ISSUED ON APPROXIMATELY February 25, 2002. A SITE VISIT will be held approximately two weeks before quote is due. Location: U.S. Coast Guard, Integrated Support Command, Kodiak, Alaska Estimated price is between $25,000 and $100,000. The proposed contract will be awarded under the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. All responsible sources may submit a written quotation, which shall be considered. Solicitation package issue date is approximately February 25, 2002. Written quotes will be due on / about March 25, 2002.
