- Description
- NA Title: Market Research for Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) Payload Description: THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. Product Manager Robotics and Unmanned Sensors (PM RUS) is seeking sources and information for an Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) system for a range of existing and future Army Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) in support of Future Combat System (FCS) and Ob jective Force. Application of this payload may extend to Army ground platforms in order to leverage Horizontal Technology Integration (HTI) capability and consequently reduce total life cycle costs. PM RUS requests information on EO/IR systems meeting t he system description below. The information should describe products that either exist or could be ready for flight test by August 2002. System Description: Total airborne system weight including interface boxes and cables less than 60 pounds. Gimbal diameter less than or equal to 11 inches. Total gimbal volume .8 cubic feet or less with stabilization better than 20 microradians. The syst em should be capable of 90% Probability of Detection of a standard NATO target (2.5 meter x 2.5 meter) at minimum 4 kilometer slant range with both EO and IR sensors. Assume altitude range of UAV platform is 150 meters - 3,000 meters Above Ground Level (A GL). The system should have provisions for laser rangefinder and growth to laser designation. Respondents are requested to provide: 1. Description of the payload and its capabilities to include any product data sheets; 2. Anticipated or actual size, weight and power consumption requirements; 3. Maturity of the payload (i.e. developmental or production) with any supporting performance and test data to support maturity claims; 4. Cost/schedule information to complete development, plus, an estimated average unit production cost assuming a purchase of 200 units procured over 4 years (use 50 units per year). Any learning curve data available and based on similar development and pr oduction effort should also be provided to support cost information; 5. Production line capacity/capability (minimum/maximum rate per month) 6. Programmatic, Technical and Cost point of contact information. Written inputs are requested within 30 days of announcement to PM RUS, Bldg # 2525, Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703. Responses may also be submitted electronically. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment b y the Government, nor will the Government pay for any information solicited. Responses and any technical questions should be addressed to Primary: Jim Botteicher, Ph # 703.704.2782, e-mail: james.botteicher@nvl.army.mil; or Secondary: Gene Lehman, Ph # 732.427.8007, e-mail: eugene.lehman@iews.monmouth.army.mil.
