Description

Maintenance of Government Owned Aircraft utilizing a Government Furnished Aircraft Hanger located in Anchorage, AK. The US Department of the Interior (DOI) intends to use competitive sources techiniques to determine the most cost effective approach to maintaining a fleet of DOI owned aircraft. The analysis, in accordance with Office of Management and Budget Circular A-76, will compete the existing Government employee aircraft mechanic workforce against contractor proposed workforce. This workforce is used to supplement maintenance currently obtained from private contractors throughout the State of Alaska in maintaining a fleet of 53 single engine aircraft. The contractor will be required to furnish a mimimum of 3 full time equivalent mechanics to provide aircraft maintenance in Anchorage. These mechanics may also be dispatched within the State of Alaska to provide aircraft maintenance when other resources are not available. All mechanics furnished must hold a Federal Aviation Administration Airplane and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate and Inspector's Authorization (IA). The term of the contract shall be for one year commencing approximately December 1, 2002, with options to renew for four additional years. This represents the Fourth of three anticipated public announcements of this procurement. It is anticipated that Request for Prosposal RFP 8102-11 will be available on April 23, 2002. A Pre-Proposal Conference will be held on May 14, 2002 in Anchorage, AK.
