Description
The US GEOLOGICAL SURVEY (USGS), Western Region Headquarters requires telecommunications cable facilities maintenance, installation, testing and electronics, and construction services supporting intra- and inter-building telecommunications requirements. The USGS in the California counties of San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz, possesses extensive telecommunications facilities used to conduct scientific research and publishing, and to perform business activities. New telecommunications cables and associated equipment and supporting construction are required to accommodate personnel moves, building construction and modification, and technology modernization. Contractor must furnish all labor, materials, supervision, and management. Parts of the facilities will be upgraded to comply with ANSI/TIA/EIA 568A; additions conforming to older standards will also be required. Expected contract period: base year plus four option years. Indefinite quantity type contract, with smaller, routine jobs ordered on a fixed unit price basis and larger, unique projects which cannot be defined before design is completed ordered on a time-and-materials basis. Multiple contracts may be awarded, one for inside cabling requirements and one for outside cabling requirements. A site visit is scheduled at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 9, 2001. Offerors may submit proposals only on inside cabling; only on outside cabling, or a combination of inside and outside cabling. Successful offeror(s) must have qualified technicians and facilities located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Unrestricted pursuant to Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.
