Description

This is a Presolicitation notice to furnish all labor, material, and equipment to remove and stockpile the topsoil layer, shape, grade, condition and compact the native windblown Eolian sediments, consistent with the Sandhills Region of north-central Nebraska, to form a roadway subgrade for a distance of approximately 2.8 miles. Install culvert pipe beneath the new roadway subgrade at existing drainage areas. Furnish, place and compact approximately 4 inches of crushed rock base course material over the compacted subgrade. Furnish, place and compact an additional 3 inches of crushed rock surface aggregate over the compacted base course. In isolated, unstable areas, roadway rehabilitation will incorporate either a geotextile fabric or a clay binder material placed between the roadway crushed rock and the sand subgrade. The work is located at Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge, Nebraska. The performance period is 180 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. The estimated value of the contract is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The solicitation will be issued on or about May 27, 2002 with a closing date of on or about June 26, 2002. All interested parties shall submit a request for the solicitation to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Attention: Aileen Y. China, P.O. Box 25486, Mail Stop 60181, DFC, Denver, CO 80225.
