- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) is in the process of migrating 27 State Disability Determination Services (DDS) from the Wang/VS platform to the iSeries 400 platform. This strategy includes replacement iSeries 400 hardware, OS/400 operating system software, IBM application development software and tools, IBM services to support installation, integration, training and transition of the DDS workloads from the Wang VS platform to the IBM iSeries 400 platform. The above hardware, software and support services must conform to the existing hardware, software and support services that are currently provided to the DDS community. IBM original equipment manufacturer parts must be available for iSeries (AS/400) hardware as well as support of IBM software while these hardware and software products are still supported by IBM. The mandatory hardware, software and support services necessary for this migration project are as follows: (1) Provide and support IBM eServer, iSeries (AS/400) hardware models, upgrades and features. (2) Provide and support OS/400 operating system software and application development software and tools including, but not limited to: 5722-SS1 OS/400, 5722-BR1 BRMS, 5722-JS1 Advanced Job Scheduler, 5722-QU1 Query for iSeries, 5722-ST1 DB2 Query Mgr & SQL Development Kit, 5722-WDS Websphere Development Studio iSeries, 5722-SW1 (Software Subscription ) and 5722-XW1 iSeries Client Access Windows Family. (3) Provide and support IBM iSeries (AS/400) Operational Support Services (PM/400, Alert, Supportline 24/7). (4) Provide and support IBM iSeries (AS/400) Software Subscription. (5) Provide and support IBM iSeries (AS/400) 24/7 Hardware Maintenance. (6) Provide and support IBM iSeries (AS/400) Installation Services (7) Provide onsite at each DDS location IBM Iseries (AS/400) Educational Services as follows: Basic Fundamental Introduction to the iSeries Basic Systems Operator Training Advanced Systems Operator Training BRMS/400 (Backup and Recovery Media Services and configuration services) AS/400 Job Scheduler Query/400 (8) Provide integration and project management services (number of hours to be determined) at each DDS location to provide technical consulting services to assist with the DDS software implementation in the DDSs iSeries (AS/400)/SSA IWS/LAN environment through the following: (9) Provide IBM iSeries (AS/400) consulting expertise to install, test, and customize the iSeries (AS/400) processor procured by the DDS. (10) Provide IBM iSeries (AS/400) consulting expertise to assist in implementing the DDS case processing application software. (11) Provide assistance in implementing the DDSs procured IBM hardware and software required to successfully print case processing forms from the DDS application to LAN attached printers. (12) Provide IBM iSeries (AS/400) consulting services as requested by SSA for technical evaluations, LPAR, performance monitoring, security, disaster recovery and upgrade strategies. Due to the proprietary aspect of this requirement, IBM Corporation is the only known source capable of meeting of all SSA's requirements. Any firm that feels they are capable of meeting this requirement can submit detailed information no later than 4:30 p.m. eastern standard time on May 6, 2002. Firms responding should indicate whether their products and services are on GSA Schedule. This is not a request for proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of results of the evaluation of the data received. Request for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. Faxed responses are not permitted. If no acceptable responses are received, the Government intends to utilize IBM's GSA schedule contract to acquire the above cited hardware, software, and support services.
